29Integrating Sex and Sexuality in your EFT Couples WorkSeptember 29, 2018 Integrating Sex and Sexuality in Your EFT Couples’ Work September 29 @ 9:30 am - 5:30 pm Join Silvina Irwin, PhD, Certified EFT Trainer, Supervisor, and Therapist, and Have you experienced the dilemma of helping couples achieve greater emotional connection through EFT, and yet found that this does not always translate directly into greater sexual desire, contact, pleasure and flexibility between the partners? This workshop will present a frame for understanding that dilemma, and offer approaches for more fully integrating sexual concerns into our EFT work, with the goal of helping couples take new risks with each other so that they can share a more vibrant sexual connection. This workshop will include: how to decipher the map of a couple’s sexual cycle; understanding sexual responses and freezes within an attachment frame; interventions that help create a secure base of “safe touch”; and how to get our own natural therapist blocks to processing sexuality material out of the way. Participants may earn 6 CE credits for attending the entire program. Partial credits will not be offered. LACEFT is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. LACEFT is also an approved provider of continuing education by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) for LMFTs, LCSWs, and LPCs. Orange County EFT Community Meetings
View of World and Context in the Cycle
September 8, 2023, 9:30-1:00 PT
Jay Seiff-Haron and Nalini Calamur
How Context and View of World Help in EFT
On September 8 from 9:30 am to 1 pm, the Orange County Community for EFT will host Nalini Calamur, LMFT, and Jay Seiff-Haron, Psy.D., for a 3-hour presentation on Context and View of World. When Sue Johnson taught us to view couples through attachment and systems lenses, she revolutionized couples therapy. Jay and Nalini will show how bringing these attachment and system lenses to bear upon an additional system level – Context, and its attendant View of World – can increase attunement; invite clients to share more of their “parts”; foster increased connection; and help clients to better support one another. They will demonstrate how EFT interventions such as conjecturing, validating, and reframing can help therapists to practically attend to experiences of culture, power, and difference in therapy. They look forward to seeing you there!
NALINI CALAMUR, LMFT – Nalini is in private practice in Berkeley, CA. She has extensive experience in Community Mental Health, with recovery from addictions, with interracial relationships, and with chronically excluded, queer, or multicultural individuals and families. She speaks Spanish, Portuguese and English.
JAY M. SEIFF-HARON, PSY.D – Jay is in private practice in SF, CA. In therapy, he sees many made-marginal people in interracial or LGBTQ+ relationships, and has co-led 30+ week-long residential retreats about antiracism, liberation, and intersectionality. His own family is queer, international, multiethnic, post-colonial, and interfaith.
